2007- 08 Mini Cooper S recall

There are many recalls in the auto industry. Most make sense, some don’t! This is one that doesn’t.
No matter how much you plan and hope that a project will be perfect, it rarely is. If a minor problem is detected, anyone can go with their car at the dealership and get it fixed for free.
The 2007 and 2008 Mini Cooper S was recalled on the base of a weird problem.
While most cars get recalled for important or disturbing problems, the 2007 Mini Cooper S and even the 2008 version was recalled because of the length of the exhaust pipe, which sticks less than 1 inch out of the car.
The reason: people who pass the Mini when it is parked can get burned.
Why would someone be walking that close to the car to start with?
