Hyundai PassoCorto concept by IED ready for Geneva
Hyundai PassoCorto concept has been filmed in Geneva ahead of tomorrow’s public debut.
The PassoCorto concept envisioned by IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) designers was commissioned by Hyundai Design Centre Europe, representing “a tribute to the Made in Italy design that is studied at the IED.”
The futuristic two-seater sports coupe comes with a rear mid-engine, and in concept form is visualized with a carbon fibre monocoque. Power comes from a 270bhp 1.6-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder petrol unit and the concept weighs just 840kg.
The PassoCorto, which means “short wheelbase” in Italian is 4100mm long, 1880mm wide, 1160mm high and has a wheelbase of 2450mm.
Some of the styling is very futuristic, but when toned down a bit, this could be Hyundai’s answer to the compact Alfa Romeo 4C.
