A Police Community Support Officer who had pulled over a motorist on suspicion of driving under the influence was himself arrested after his colleagues found him to be over the drink-drive limit.

Car dealer Irfan Mehrban was pulled over by PCSO Andrew Seston in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and was asked to get out of his car after being suspected of smoking cannabis.

When Mehrban began arguing with him, Seston called for backup. However, when officers arrived, they suspected the Support Officer of drinking and breathalysed him.

He was found to be twice over the drink-drive limit, having consumed two bottles of wine the night before.

Mr Mehrban, who filmed the PCSO’s arrest, told the Daily Mail: “I had just turned into my street after picking my son up from school, and this copper flagged me down.

“He asked me to get out of the car, so I did because I was at home. I asked him why he stopped me, and he said he thought he could smell cannabis.

“It was then I smelled his breath and I was like “whoa”. He stank of alcohol. I don’t drink and I don’t do drugs, so I started arguing with him because he was drunk.

“It was then that he called for backup and I rang the police myself. When the other police turned up and arrested him, it was the absolute definition of justice.”

Mr Seston was banned from driving for a year after pleading guilty to drink-driving at Aylesbury Magistrates’ Court. He has since resigned from Thames Valley Police.
