The Dubai Police Adds A McLaren MP4-12C To Its Luxe Roster Of Police Vehicles
Dubai is home to all things extravagant. They pride themselves on being the best of the best. Their structures, fashions, and events are nothing but luxurious and high-end.
This attitude even extends into the police department. With their already high-end roster, the Dubai Police are adding another super car to their fleet. The McLaren MP4-12C is the next car to make its debut in the green and white.
The Dubai Police debuted the car on the Dubai Police Instagramaccount on December 25th with a picture explaining that this was their new patrol car. This car was introduced to the market in 2011 and features a carbon fiber composite chassis. It is powered up by a mid-mounted 3.8-litre V8, twin turbo engine. The car is not going to be used for high-speed chases and other things of the sort. It is a patrol car, which means that it will be used to patrol areas in order to keep the peace.

Peugeot 308 Cabriolet Rendered
New company officials and deals with the employees are probably more important for Peugeot, as the French carmaker still isn’t recovering despite the fact the European auto market has bottomed out.
Still, what they lack in prestige and reliability, Peugeot usually make up for with style and presence, and the new 308 is a perfect example of this. One part family car, one part LED light sculpture, it’s received some positive reviews since its launch.
Diversification is what’s on the agenda next for the 308 and its platform. There will be a sedan derivative still based on the EMP2 platform, which we think will be called the 408. There might also be a convertible, though we’re not sure if they have the resources to build one.
Unlike its predecessor, which had been converted into a longer, slightly wider coupe+convertible, the new 308 could be done up as a traditional Cabrio. Theophilus Chin has rendered such a car in a style similar to the Golf Cabrio or the Audi A3 Cabrio. A short body, only two doors and restricted rear passenger space make this more of a 2+2.

After Ally pact, could dealers face liability?
With Ally Financial having to refund money to victims of alleged bias in auto loans, are the dealerships that originated those loans now exposed to liability? Maybe, according to some consumer advocates.
Ally, more independent, can better focus on dealers
It’s time to stop thinking of Ally Financial as GM’s captive finance company and get used to the fact that it’s an independent bank.
Porsche 911 Safari off-road concept to debut at Beijing Motor Show
A report coming out of Germany indicates Porsche will travel to next April’s Beijing Motor Show to display an off-road-ready variant of the iconic 911.
The car will reportedly be christened 911 Safari, a name that pays homage to the 911 SC Safari that competed in the 1978 edition of the East African Safari Rally. Based on the four-wheel drive Carrera 4, the Safari will feature a noticeably raised suspension, high-profile tires and skid plates to protect the underbody.
PM2.5 hits 390mg in smog-bound Shanghai
Peaking at 390 micrograms per cubic meter, more than five times the nation’s limit of 75, yesterday’s density of hazardous PM2.5 particles remained at a high level, contributing to Shanghai’s heavy pollution, the city’s environment watchdog said.
Due to the arrival of pollutants from north, the PM2.5 density soared to 300 micrograms by 7am from the 120 micrograms recorded at 4am, and the figure continued to rise throughout the afternoon.
The World Health Organization’s safety guideline is 25 micrograms.
As for the larger PM10, its concentration kept growing overnight and hit about 500 micrograms at 4pm, triple the nation’s 150 microgram limit and 10 times the density considered safe by WHO of 50 micrograms.
The city’s average air quality index over 24 hours reached its peak at 6pm with a reading of 287, indicating heavy pollution, while Qingpu District recorded an AQI of 339, or severely polluted.
