New Mercedes A-Class Priced From £18,945 – Market Launch In December

The new Mercedes A class 2012 model line up has been revealed ahead of its market launch in December. The base A 180 BlueEFFICIENCY starts from £18,945.
Five models lines (SE, Sport, AMG Sport and Engineered by AMG) will be offered, supported by two design-led packages, and a wide range of engines ranging from 109hp to 211hp. Top of the line A 250 BlueEFFICIENCY (Engineered by AMG) is priced from £28,775 and powered by 211bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine.
All engines of the new A-Class feature ECO start/stop as standard. In addition to the new six-speed manual transmissions, the 7G-DCT dual clutch automatic transmission is also available across all engines too.
Customers can also customise their Sport and AMG Sport model lines with two optional packages:
– The Night package, that offers privacy glass; black gloss beltline and mirror caps; dark 18” alloys; the two lamella grille with black gloss and chrome accents; and bi-xenon headlights with LED day time running lights.
– The Exclusive package adds ARTICO stitched upper dashboard and leather upholstery; four-way lumbar support; heated front seats; armrest with stitching and velour floor mats.
Other highlights of the new A-Class include ESP, Active Bonnet and Adaptive Brake with HOLD function and Hill-Start Assist, radar-based COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST, ADAPTIVE BRAKE feature, lane keeping, speed limit assistants and ATTENTION ASSIST, that monitors driver behaviour and warns when signs of tiredness are spotted.
There is also a nice surprise for iPhone owners as for the first time, Mercedes-Benz has integrated the popular smart phone comprehensively in to the new A-Class, including SIRI compatibility. In fact it’s about time as iPhone integration is now in more and more cars – not bad for a phone, that just recently celebrated its 5 year anniversary.
