Toyota released a teaser image and first details for the Aqua Air concept, which will debut next week at the Tokyo Motor Show.

The Aqua Air Concept uses the same hybrid powertrain as the Aqua G Sports, combining a 1.5-litre petrol engine, an electric motor and a CVT gearbox for a total output of 100 horsepower. Average fuel economy is reportedly just 100mpg.

This b-segment open top concept is 3990mm long, 1690mm wide and 1440mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2550mm.

While nothing is official the Aqua Air concept could preview a new compact roadster with a potential market launch already next year in Japan.
