Nissan Patrol enters the Guinness World Records

In Nissan’s new spot “Patrol Challenge,” the automaker touts its recent entry into the Guinness Book of World Records.

The Nissan Patrol, a SUV popular in other markets but never sold in the United States, claimed the world record of being the production vehicle that has pulled the heaviest aircraft — a 179-ton cargo plane in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

The previous record was set five years ago by a Volkswagen Touareg towing a Boeing 747 that weighed 15 tons less than the aircraft the Patrol hauled.
