CarFest auction this weekend boasts a selection of ‘star’ cars

More than 70 cars, including a smattering of celebrity owned models, will go under the hammer at this year’s CarFest South ‘Pride & Joy’ classic car auction.
The sale, hosted by Silverstone Auctions on Sunday 25 August at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire, quickly follows the CarFest North auction which raised £115,651 for BBC Children In Need.
Marques represented include some of the best in the world such as Bentley, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lotus and Porsche, with models from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s strongly represented.
There’s a variety of cars with famous owners including an ex-Roger Daltrey 1981 Mercedes-Benz 280SL, estimated at between £12,000 to £15,000, a 1965 Jaguar E-type Series I that was first owned by Charlie Drake, estimated at between £40,000 to £45,000; and a 1989 Jaguar XJ-S, estimated at between £6,000 to £8,000, previously owned by Chris Evans no less and now owned by his colleague Vassos Alexander.
There’s also the opportunity to take part in the action with live on-line bidding or by placing a commission bid with Silverstone Auctions before the event.
For details of all of the classic cars and charity lots on offer or how to bid at CarFest South, visit www.silverstoneauctions.com.
