BMW has released a teaser video titled “BMW M is preparing something new” where you can hear the all-new straight-six (S55), 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine for a quick 10 seconds.

This new engine will be under the bonnet in the new 2014 M3 and the M4 coupe.

Rumoured to produced around 450bhp and 550 Nm of torque, it is expected to take the M3/M4 from 0-62mph in around 4.2 seconds, while the top speed will be electronically-limited to 155mph.

The new M3 and M4 are expected to debut in early 2014 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Concept versions of the M3 and M4 are likely to debut either later this week at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance or at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
