Details are limited, but Toyota says the Hybrid-R is based on a current Toyota production model (it is Yaris obviously) and features similar technology that is used in the Toyota Racing’s TS030 Hybrid race car in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Power comes from an internal combustion engine with electric motors to achieve a combined output of more than 400bhp.

The concept also has a dual mode control which allows the car’s performance to be tailored to suit either road or racetrack.
