Mercedes-Benz has released a new promo video, showing us how the new S-Class was created.
As in most cases with new models, designers started off with a series of sketches which were then transformed into clay replicas. The clay models were then presented to a group of decision makers.

Once the design for the new models was approved, work was started to construct a series of prototypes, which then underwent a series of testing around the world in different conditions from hot weather to extreme cold in the Arctic Circle.
Daimler Chairman Dieter Zetsche commented: “The S-Class moves the people who make things move. No other Mercedes, and probably no other car, so completely embodies the aspiration of Gottlieb Daimler.”
The new S-Class is priced from £79,789.50 for the short wheelbase S 350 BlueTEC and from £107,635.00 for the long wheelbase S 500.
