Caterham has revealed the range-topping 620R which will debut later this week at Goodwood Festival of Speed. The 620R will replace the R500 model and is powered by a modified 311bhp 2.0-litre Ford Duratec engine with 219 lb ft (296 Nm) of torque at 7,350 rpm. That is very impressive numbers from a naturally aspirated engine with such a small displacement.
Exact weight details were not released, but the performance is mind-blowing as the 620R accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 2.79 seconds.
The 620R features gunmetal chassis, race-spec cooling system, De Dion rear suspension and 13 inch alloy wheels wrapped with Avon ZZR tyres. It also has a new nose that improves airflow.
