Famous riders and dtivers include Freddie Spencer, three time World Motorcycle Grand Prix champion, and John Surtees, the only man to have won both the F1 championship and the World Motorcycle Grand Prix, as well as Gabriele Tarquini, Gordon ‘Flash’ Shedden, Matt Neal, John McGuinness, Alex Lowes, Ralph Bryans and Stuart Graham. All will be tacling the Goodwood Hillclimb throughout the three day Festival.

Visitors to the Festival will also be able to try out one of Honda’s All Terrain Vehicles on a specially designed course and have a go on two-wheels with the Honda motorcycle MotoX experience. Both these activities will be running between 9.00am-5.00pm on all four days of the event, and are free of charge.

Toyota to race Le Mans cars at Goodwood

A trio of historic Toyota Le Mans cars will be in action at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which takes places from 11-14 July. The TS010 and GT-One from the 1990s will be in action with Toyota’s current TS030 Hybrid Le Mans racer.

Martin Brundle and Emanuel Collard will be rolling back the years behind the wheel of the GT-One they raced at Le Mans in 1998 and 1999, while current Toyota Racing team-mates Anthony Davidson and Alex Wurz will take turns driving the TS010 that competed in the world famous 24-hour challenge in 1992 and 1993. Davidson and Wurz will also be reunited with the TS030 Hybrid, the car that claimed second and fourth places at this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours.

There will also be a fantastic collection of classic WRC cars in action on the Festival’s rally stage. Three versions of the Celica GT4 (ST165, ST185 and ST205) will be joined by the Group B TA64, driven by Björn Waldegård. The last works-entered Toyota world rally car – the Corolla WRC – will also be rattling around the purpose-built forest rally stage, along with John Midgley’s classic Corolla AE86.

Modern motoring fans will be invited to inspect Toyota’s latest developments, with a first showing of the FT86 Open concept – a working design study for a potential GT86 convertible – and a racing version of the GT86, which will be displayed alongside an original 2000GT from the 1960s.

Ferrari to bring its latest cars to Goodwood

Ferrari is to bring its latest F12 Berlinetta to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, along with a selection of vehicles to showcase the level of bespoke customisation offered by Ferrari. These include bespoke FF and a “Tailor-Made” 458 Spider, plus Eric Clapton’s one-off SP12 EC, built by the Ferrari Special Projects division (pictured).

This will be the first year that the F12 Berlinetta has appeared at Goodwood – it’s powered by a 6.3-litre V12 engine, which produces 740PS. Performance is as exciting as you’d expect of a Ferrari – 0-62mph takes 3.1 seconds and top speed is 211mph.

Ferrari will also have the completely unique SP12 EC, built exclusively for Eric Clapton by the Ferrari Special Projects division with many styling nods to the 512BB of the 1970s. The Scuderia Ferrari team will also be present, demonstrating the Ferrari F10 raced in the 2010 Formula One season.
