McLaren P1 supercar breaks down at Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza
McLaren P1 production will be limited to just 375 examples and as recently reported the whole production run is almost sold out.
Priced from £866,000 it is one of the fastest and most exclusive cars to hit the market this year.
Power comes from a 627bhp twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 engine and a 176bhp electric motor. Combined power output is 903bhp and 663 lb-ft of torque. 0-62mph comes in less than three seconds and the top speed is electronically-limited to 350 km/h (217 mph).
Recently the P1 was on display at Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza in Italy – an event that gathers people who can actually afford the car. At one point the P1 failed to start and in today’s digital world this is something that will be on YouTube shortly.
As you can see from the video there was no response from the start button and an error messaged “Park Brake Fault – Call McLaren Service Centre” and “ESC Fault Vehicle Limp-home – Go to McLaren Service Centre” appeared on the screen.
We are pretty sure McLaren would have preferred this whole think to go unnoticed or at least in a more private place.
