225 Nissan Leafs Sets New Guiness Record For Largest Parade of Electric Cars

This past weekend a convoy of 225 Nissan Leaf’s was driven around the Silverstone Circuit to break the Guinness World Record for the ‘largest parade of electric vehicles’, beating the previous record of 218 held by Chrysler in the US.

The event was organised by Nissan to bring together owners of the Leaf to share their ownership experiences and to gather information about how they use their cars. Since its debut in December 2010, more than 43,000 Leaf’s have been sold.

The all electric Nissan Leaf entered the record books back in June by becoming the fastest car over a mile in reverse, set at the Goodwood Festival of Speed by stunt driver Terry Grant, who covered the distance in just 1m 37.02s at an average speed of 55 mph.

The record is clearly not as interesting when compared to 964 Ferrari’s around the Silverstone.
