2015 Range Rover Sport SVR prototype unveiled
Land Rover has been testing a new top of the range Range Rover Sport model for some time now. So far the model was believed to wear the ‘R-S’ designation, but instead Land Rover has decided to use a new high performance SVR designation, that will be used for future high-performance Land Rover and Jaguar models.
The Range Rover Sport SRV will debut later this week as a prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with the familiar disguise we have already seen, revealing a more aggressive front bumper with bigger air intakes and a new rear bumper and quad exhaust tips.
The visual changes are nice, but the real changes are under the skin. Power comes from the familiar 5.0-litre supercharged V8 producing 542bhp, as also on the range topping Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, XJR, XFR-S and XKR-S.
The camouflaged Range Rover Sport SVR prototype will also perform a series of runs up the famous Goodwood Hill course in the ‘First Glance’ category.
Going against the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, Mercedes ML 63 AMG, BMW X5 M, the Range Rover Sport SRV will be the fastest, most agile and most responsive Land Rover vehicle ever built with sales scheduled to start in 2015.
