2014 Fiat 500 to receive 2-cylinder 105 hp 0.9 TwinAir Turbo

At the Geneva Motor Show, Fiat will introduce the MY 2014 Fiat 500, featuring a wide range of engines including the new two-cylinder 105 hp 0.9 TwinAir Turbo also offered in the Alfa Romeo MiTo sport mini.

Combined with a six-speed manual gearbox, the new 0.9 TwinAir engine delivers 105 hp (78 kW) at 5,500 rpm with a maximum torque of 145 N·m (107 lb-ft) at 2,000 rpm.

The Fiat 500 with the 105 HP 0.9 TwinAir has a top speed of 188 km/h (117 mph) top speed and 0 to 100 km/h acceleration of 10 seconds. Fuel consumption in the combined type-approval cycle is 4.2 l/100 km (56 mpg US), or 99 g/km of CO2.

As on the previous Turbo TwinAir applications, ECO mode when starting is also available for the new Fiat 500: in this condition the maximum torque delivered is limited to 120 N·m (89 lb-ft) and the power to 98 hp (73 kW), allowing the power unit to function in the operating range which permits maximum efficiency and minimum emissions. The model comes with Start&Stop system as standard.

Other engine options are the 69 HP 1.2 and 85 HP TwinAir Turbo gasoline engines (both also available with Dualogic robotized gearbox), the 95 HP 1.3 MultiJet II turbodiesel, or the 69 HP 1.2 dual-fuel (LPG/gasoline) engine.
