Chevrolet has revealed first details about the Spark EV ahead of its public debut later this month at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The Spark EV will arrive in California dealer showrooms next summer. There are no details currently about other markets.

Power comes from an electric motor with 130 hp and 400 lb ft of torque, enabling the Spark to hit 60mph in less than eight seconds.

Spark EV’s 20kWh lithium-ion battery pack can be charged to 80 per cent in approximately 20 minutes with its industry-first SAE combo charger. Chevrolet has not specified a range for the Spark EV, though it is very likely somewhere around 70-80 miles from a full charge.
