2013 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Race Car unveiled
Porsche has unveiled the 2013 911 GT3 Cup race car at the company’s “Night of Champions” celebration. The new 911 GT3 Cup is the first motorsports version of the new 991 series based on the upcoming 911 GT3 street car.
New 911 GT3 Cup is powered by a 3.8-litre six-cylinder flat engine producing 460 hp (up by 10 hp compared to the outgoing model). Power is sent to the rear axle through a six-speed dog-type gearbox developed by Porsche Motorsport which is operated via shift paddles at the steering wheel.
Michelin race slicks are increased by two centimetres to 27 centimetres at the front and by ten millimetres at the rear axle, measuring 31 centimetres, when compared to the previous generation 911 GT3 Cup car.
It includes a newly developed race braking system, and race seat. Plus newly designed safety cage with a rescue hatch in the roof providing easy access for primary medical attention or for the extrication of the driver.
The new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is available exclusively in white.
