2013 Mercedes A 45 AMG Crashes On The Nürburgring

The new Mercedes A-Class is now on sale, with first deliveries planned for December. For the first time there will be an AMG version of the A-Class as well. The hot Mercedes A45 AMG is currently testing at the extreme Nürburgring and as you can see from these new photos sometimes testing is not going the way engineers had planned.
The A 45 AMG prototype was crashed pretty hard on the Nordschleife in a very high speed part. The car was doing over 100mph, when it came out of the Fuchsröhre, and then crashed into the right guardrail. The front is heavily damaged, as well as the front window and parts of the rear. Air bags are also open and according to the photographer, the driver was not injured and walked away from the car on his own.
The A 45 AMG will be revealed to the public in early 2013. Under the bonnet is a new 330bhp 2.0-litre turbo engine, with power sent to all-wheel-drive system via AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
Other AMG updates include sports suspension with independently developed front and rear axles, electromechanical speed-sensitive sports steering, high-performance braking system and 3-stage ESP with “SPORT Handling” mode.
