2013 Geneva Motor Show – Subaru VIZIV Crossover Concept and new Forester
February 09, 2013
John E.
Subaru will unveil the VIZIV concept next month at the Geneva Motor Show, previewing Subaru’s future design direction and vision for technological innovation.
The VIZIV is a future-generation crossover concept designed to embody the brand’s values of ‘Enjoyment and Peace of Mind’. The name is inspired by the phrase ‘Vision for Innovation,’ and the concept has been designed to show the direction future Subaru all-wheel drive models will take.Alongside the new concept vehicle, the new fourth-generation Subaru Forester will make its European debut at Geneva. It wears sharper styling similar to that introduced on the XV crossover model. The brand’s Subaru’s ‘Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive’ system will still be used, as you might expect following Subaru’s recent announcement that it plans to concentrate heavily on SUVs and crossovers in the UK, so much so it has dropped the Impreza hatchback.
New Forester will go on sale in the UK in May. Also on display will be Subaru Outback with its 2.0-litre Boxer diesel engine now paired with Lineartronic (CVT) transmission for the first time, to give smoother gear-shifting and improved fuel efficiency.
