2013 Audi A1 E-tron Testing In Spain

In early June several car blogs and magazines reported the Audi A1 e-tron could be axed due to unstable market, high development costs and low profit margins. Being skeptical when it comes to such rumours, we did not follow the crowd. Looks as if we were right as the A1 e-tron has been spotted testing in the Sierra Nevada, Spain.
The car has red headlights, a different grill and air intakes, as well as a e-tron badges. The A1 e-tron is powered by a 101bhp electric motor, with 60bhp continuous power and 177 lb ft of torque (111 lb ft continuous).All-electric range is up to 31 miles that can be extended to around 155 miles with the help of a small internal combustion engine, that recharges the batteries.
The A1-tron delivers an impressive 148mpg with CO2 emissions of 45 g/km.
