Yamaha unveils 01GEN three wheeler concept at Intermot 2014
Yamaha clearly likes three wheel motorcycles and scooters.
This is the 01GEN, what the company calls a new multi-wheel “on & off crossover” concept vehicle inspired by the design philosophy of Refined Dynamism.
The “on & off” simply means it is suitable for different terrains, while the Refined Dynamism is Yamaha’s way to “captivate users and helps create vibrant lifestyles through unparalleled beauty and dynamism”.
The top part is clearly superbike inspired, while the lower part looks suitable for off road, though for some more serious dirt road fun it could use definitely different tyres.
Powertrain details were not released, though it does look like it is a conventional petrol powered concept (it looks like there is a well integrated exhaust tip on the lower right side), not an electric model, though Yamaha recently patented an electric trike concept.
