Volvo S60 Polestar Concept Heading to LA Auto Show
Volvo will bring the hot S60 Polestar Concept to Los Angeles Auto Show, following its introduction back in June at the Gothenburg City Race.
Still a one-off concept, the S60 Polestar packs 508bhp from a turbocharged Volvo T6 inline-six with power sent to upgraded Haldex all-wheel drive via six-speed manual transmission.
0-62mph comes in just 3.9 seconds, while the top speed is more than 186 mph.
“This is Polestar’s interpretation of the Volvo S60,” says Christian Dahl, founder and CEO of Polestar. “It’s a car developed with our own preferences in mind — although we know they are also shared by active drivers.”
The S60 Polestar is finished in Rebel Blue, rides on 19-inch wheels wrapped with 265/30R19 tyres, the chassis is lowered by 30mm and the body is 20mm wider compared to the standard model.
Other updates include six-piston Brembos on the 380mm front discs, a reinforced chassis, Öhlins three-way suspension, lowered front splitter, larger rear spoler, carbon fiber diffuser, Polestar sports seats, lowered center console and Alcantara on all functional areas.
There still is no word on production, though back in summer Volvo said more cars could follow depending on market response. It could be that Volvo is looking to get more feedback and a major car show is a good place to start…
