Volkswagen Snowareg based on the Touareg V8 TDI
Volkswagen Sweden has created a one-off ultimate winter vehicle, dubbed Snowareg to conquer the country’s harsh winters.
Based on the 4.2-litre V8 TDI Touareg with 340bhp and 800 Nm of torque, the Snowareg features a rubber track conversion system from Minnesota company Mattracks.Because of the rubber tracks, the top speed is reduced to just 40 mph, but that should not be an issue as this ultimate winter driving SUV is clearly not for going fast on the highway.Volkswagen Sweden spokesman commented: “We can confirm that it works perfectly on all surfaces.” We have no doubt about it and would love to see it in action.
