Mitsubishi gave the Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV plug-in hybrid its North American debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Mitsubishi said that the Concept XR-PHEV crossover hints at its future design direction for production vehicles in North America and further reaffirms the automaker’s commitment to the US market.

Mitsubishi will add two more PHEVs to European lineup
Mitsubishi will add plug-in hybrid versions of its its next ASX compact crossover and Pajero/Shogun SUV, CEO Osamu Masuko said.
The plug-in variants will join the Outlander, which already has a plug-in variant on sale in Europe.
Fiat will source a midsize truck from Mitsubishi
Fiat Chrysler will source a new midsize pickup for Europe and Latin America from Mitsubishi Motors.
The truck will be based on the next-generation Mitsubishi L200 model, Fiat and Mitsubishi said in a statement.
Mitsubishi recalls Lancer sedans with Takata air bags

Mitsubishi is recalling cars made with Takata air bags in Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Mitsubishi is one of nine automakers to say it will conduct a recall that includes those areas.
Mitsubishi takes divisional 1st and 2nd in Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2014
Mitsubishi’s iMiEV Evolution III all-electric racecars took first and second place in the the Electric Modified Division of the 2014 edition of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. With a time of 9 minutes 08 seconds 188, Greg Tracy won the Electric Modified Division honors and 2nd overall—just a few seconds shy of taking the overall win. Meanwhile, Hiroshi Masuoka set a time of 9 minutes 12 seconds 204, finishing 2nd in the division and 3rd overall.
