Sunshine Greets Britcar 24
The annual Britcar endurance race returns to Silverstone to amazingly bright and sunny weather – a portent of the downpoor that’s been forecast! Rather quick off the mark at the thankfully incident-free start was the Ginette G55 of Team LNT followed by Neil Garner Motorsport’s Mosler MT900R.
A field of 33 cars, all still running at the 2-hour mark, are split into four categories, but that pace is already pretty rapid with lap times of the 3.66-mile grand prix circuit down to under 2:10. But its a long-haul of endurance and the rain, forcast to appear around 11:00 this evening, will no doubt lead to frayed nerves in the team garages.
The #4 Toyota MR2 of Rogue Motorsport quickly made up ground after problems hit their warmup and qualifying:
