Smart fortwo is not the kind of car one would associate with racing, especially extreme Dakar Rally.

Team Feber had different plans with the small city car as they created a rally ready fortwo dubbed the Smart Dakar.

According to the team, the race car is in compliance with FIA regulations, and weighs only 750 kilograms.Two cars were built for the 2013 Dakar Rally, which will start January 5 in Lima, Peru, and ends January 20 in Santiago, Chile covering close to 5,000 miles.Unfortunately the team was not able to raise enough money to support their racing ambitions for the 2013 Dakar Rally, but hopefully they have more luck before the next race.
