Radical RXC Hardtop Revealed

Peterborough-based Radial Sports Cars chose the 2013 Autosport International show to reveal their first-ever hard-top race car, the RXC.

Its new in-house optimised Ford Duratec 3.7 litre V6 engine produces 380bhp (same as the SR8), enough to propel the lightweight machine to 60mph in a lightning-quick 2.8 seconds.Company co-founder Phil Abbott said the company had gone for a revolutionary new car to help celebrate their magnificent sales tally of over 1000 cars since the company was founded in 1997.

He said they set out to design and build a car “that was faster than a supercar, totally driver focused and intensely rewarding to drive”, starting with a clean-sheet design with only a handful of components carried over from its present 5-model range – all produced at the company’s 30,000sq.ft. facility.
