Prodrive prepares for LeMans season

With some cars already in the USA ready for the ALMS Sebring 12 hour race, Banbury-based Prodrive motorsport are looking ahead to the LeMans 24 hour as part of their 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship season. Prodrive run not only the Aston Martin works team but also a number of cars for racing customers around the world, in GT4, GT3 and GTE classes.

Now in its 4th season, Prodrive also runs the Aston Martin GT4 Challenge over seven rounds including Spa in July. The series is open to drivers of all abilities and represents one of the most cost-effective ways into modern Aston Martin racing.
Founded by David Richards CBE and involved in motorsport for more than 28 years, their 12-acre Banbury site, host to a workforce of more than 500 (the second highest employer in the area), is proving too small for their thriving business and they’re looking to move to new 24-acre premises in the town later this year.
Their impressive heritage includes more than 100 international rally wins and six World Rally Championship titles with Subaru, including drivers such as the legendary Colin McRae. Additionally they have won the British Touring Car Championship five times with BMW, Alfa Romeo and Ford, taken three GT1 titles at Le Mans with Aston Martin Racing in 2007 and 2008 and with a privately-backed Ferrari team in 2003. Their most recent project is running the Mini WRC Team in the World Rally Championship.
