BMW reveals a presentation video for the BMW i3 Coupe Concept, a prototype based on the five-door version which is scheduled for production this year. This three-door i3 Concept will be offered in production form in the coming years.

The new BMW i3 is the first model within the i range to be available in production form. BMW’s new i range consists of electric vehicles. Possibly another model in this will be the BMW i8 supercar.

BMW plans to produce several variants of the  i3. Under the bonnet of the  i3 sits an electric motor capable of delivering 168 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.

“The BMW i3 Concept Coupé shows the ongoing development process for getting the first ever all-electric model from the BMW i brand ready for series production,” states BMW.

BMW says more details on the upcoming models within the i lineup will be released throughout this year.
