Jeep has revealed the all-new Cherokee ahead of New York Auto Show debut next month. The new model brings the Cherokee name back to North America, where it was last used in 2011, replacing the Liberty model.

The new Cherokee features traditional Jeep design, like boxy wheel arches as well as new Nissan Juke-style narrow headlights. New model is based on the modified Alfa Romeo Giulietta’s platform and in Europe is expected to use 1.75-litre turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel linked to a six-speed manual. Both two and four-wheel drive configurations will be offered.The new Jeep Cherokee will be built in at Chrysler’s Toledo Assembly Plant in Ohio and is scheduled to arrive in the UK end of the year, going against the likes of Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5.
