Here is the first cold weather testing pictures of  BMWs’ 2 Series Coupe and Convertible  caught near the Arctic Circle in Sweden.

The 2 Series Coupe prototype also has double exhaust tips, while the 2 Series Convertible has a single exhaust tip on the left. The new 2 Series does certainly look sportier than the current model.The new BMW 2 Series will be built on the same RWD platform as the current 1 Series hatchbacks and is  just a new name for the 1 Series Coupe and Convertible. Rumour is that a 2 Series Gran Coupe and 2 Series Gran Sports Tourer are also planned.

The 2 Series will commence production in the second half of 2013 with both three and four cylinder engines. Rumoured models for Europe include: 220i manual, 225i manual, 225i auto, M235i manual, M235i auto, M235i Xdrive auto, 220d auto, 225d manual and 225d auto.

Public debut is very likely next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
