VW to expand Bratislava plant, report says

Volkswagen Group will invest up to 500 million euros to modernize and expand its plant in Bratislava, Slovakia, a report said.

The work should start in April and last until the end of 2016, Slovak newspaper Hospodarske Noviny reported on Tuesday.

The factory builds the VW Up, Skoda Citigo and Seat Mii minicars, along with the VW Touareg and Audi Q7 large SUVs and bodies for the Porsche Cayenne.

The plant will add productions of bodies for the Bentley Bentayga SUV, which will go on sale next year.

A spokesman for the plant was not immediately available for comment.
