Renault has revealed the facelifted version of its tiniest hot hatch, the Twingo Renaultsport 133.The raspy little Renaultsport has always been well received, largely because it’s one of the only cars that sits well with the highly overused ‘go-kart’ metaphor. Unlike certain cars.It’s re-styled in line with the rest of the Twingo range (obviously), but also gets some engine improvements that make it slightly cheaper to run. Win!Emissions go down to 150g/km and economy up to 43.5mpg, improvements of around three percent.Renault has decided not to tinker with the mechanical setup in any way, “so its performance and grin-inducing driving characteristics remain intact,” according to the press release. We can’t argue with that.


The Cup chassis is still on the options list, for £700, including lower ride height, stiffer springs and dampers, 17-inch gloss black wheels and wider tyres. A bargain, especially when the wheels alone are a £500 option.Aside from the headlamp restyle, which is obvious (see the picture of the old car below), the car gets a body coloured F1-style blade at the front, like the Renaultsport Mégane, a more aerodynamic rear bumper including a diffuser, and twin chrome tailpipes.

The car now comes with Bluetooth as standard, and the interior is distinguished from common-as-muck Twingos with yellow contrasting stitching. Renault hasn’t seen fit to supply a picture of the cabin.

It goes on sale at the beginning of April, fools, priced from £13,565.
