California randomly checks vehicles for emissions testing
November 01, 2013
Guest Author

The Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR), with the help of the California Highway Patrol, were randomly picking vehicles for emissions testing — more commonly known as a smog check — on Lower Sacramento Road in Lodi on Tuesday.
The goal was to test 30 vehicles.
The data collected will be used to evaluate California’s emissions reduction program.
BAR representatives also provided drivers with an emissions report and information if the vehicle did not meet emission standards, without consequences.
