Bugatti Veyron successor reportedly named Chiron, coming in 2015
Bugatti Veyron production run of 450 units is coming to an end very soon and the long-waited successor is expected to debut as a concept already next March at the Geneva Motor Show.
There have been many reports about this new hypercar with most of them talking about the new hybrid 8.0-litre W16 drivetrain with around 1500bhp and a potential top speed of 286mph.
Now we also have the name for the Veyron successor. According to Car and Driver, the Veyron’s successor will be called the Chiron, named after former Bugatti racing driver Louis Chiron.
This is not the first time Bugatti honours the legendary racing driver. Back in 1999, Bugatti unveiled the Bugatti 18/3 Chiron concept designed by ItalDesign that you see above and below from different angles.
Louis Chiron was a very successful racing driver for 35 years. He was also one of the oldest drivers to race in Formula One. He raced the Monaco Grand Prix when he was 58.
