Renault-Nissan Alliance has unveiled first details about their Common Module Family (CMF) architecture, that will generate an average 30-40% reduction in entry cost per model and 20-30% reduction in parts cost for the Alliance.

The first deployment of this new shared architecture for the compact and large car segments, will cover 1.6 million vehicles per year and 14 models (11 Renault group + 3 Nissan).

The first Nissan vehicles with the new CMF architecture will arrive later this year and include new Rogue, Qashqai and X-Trail.

The first Renault vehicles to use the new architecture are Espace, Scenic and Laguna and will be released in late 2014.

CMF will be deployed across 5 continents in more than 10 countries through 2020.
