2016 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang unveiled

Ford has unveiled the all-new Shelby GT350 Mustang and it sure is an impressive muscle car that can go fast on the straight and also around the track.

This new range-topping Mustang is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V8 engine equipped with a flat-plane crankshaft delivering 500+ bhp & 400 lb-ft of torque. Torsen limited slip differential and a six-speed manual transmission are standard, while the transmission oil cooler and engine oil cooler will be part of the optional Track Pack.

The chassis is the stiffest in the company’s history. The front track is also wider than on the standard model, there are recalibrated spring rates and bushings, as well as a lowered ride height. A new addition is Ford’s first use of MagneRide dampers, which continually adjust to match road conditions and driver demands.

Visually the changes are also quite big, revealing a new front end from the bonnet to the new front splitter. At the rear is a new bumper showing quad exhaust tips. All this rides on new 19-inch alloys fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres, hiding enlarged Brembo brakes.

Interior features new Recaro front seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel and a driver control system with five different modes that adjust anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, steering effort, throttle mapping, MagneRide tuning and alo exhaust settings.

Details are limited but we expect the Shelby GT350 Mustang to arrive in Europe in late 2015.
