DENZA EV proceeds towards China market introduction this year

Shenzhen BYD Daimler New Technology Co., Ltd., the Chinese joint venture between Daimler and BYD, has selected ABB to supply DC fast chargers for BDNT’s battery-electric DENZA over the next six years. The home wall-mounted fast chargers will be sold through DENZA dealerships along with the vehicle and significantly reduces charging time. Furthermore, the DENZA vehicle will also be rechargeable at a conventional wall socket.

Advance sales of the Audi A3 g-tron began at dealerships in Germany, at a base price of €25,900 (US$35,400). Its 1.4-liter TFSI engine developing 81 kW (110 hp) can be operated using either natural gas, e-gas generated by Audi or gasoline. In pure e-gas mode, using the Audi e-gas fuel card, the g-tron is CO2-neutral, Audi says.

China’s auto sales rose 6.0 percent year-on-year in January to a record high for any month thanks to strong car sales before the Chinese New Year holiday, an industry group said Thursday.

Renault CEO Ghosn postpones profit goal again

Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn’s latest revenue and profit targets for the automaker have sparked mixed reaction from analysts, some saying the company was playing it safe while others were more skeptical.Ghosn aims to increase revenue by about 25 percent to 50 billion euros in 2017, a year later than originally planned, and to boost operating margin to 5 percent, up from 3 percent last year.

Renault 2013 profit advances 59% on gains for Dacia brand

Renault said full-year earnings rose 59 percent as low-cost cars from the company’s Dacia division pushed delivery growth and the automaker reduced costs.Earnings before interest, taxes and one-time items advanced to 1.24 billion euros ($1.69 billion) from 782 million euros in 2012, the automaker said today in a statement.
