Car and Driver columnist Csaba Csere managed to get a ride in one of the E63 AMG prototypes.

He first takes a look at the camouflaged exterior and then goes for a ride with the head of AMG, Olla Källenius and later with Tobias Moers, AMG’s head of vehicle development.

New updated E63 AMG gets an updated 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 with 550 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque. That’s 32 extra hp compared to the outgoing model. Biggest news is the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, instead of current models rear-wheel drive configuration.

The hot E63 AMG is in the final stages of development and will go on sale next summer.
