BMW’s Reithofer tells Germans to embrace EVs

BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer told his fellow Germans to set aside their worries and embrace electric-vehicle technology.

“Germany is respected and admired the world over for its engineering expertise and powers of innovation, but ‘German angst’ is also a concept the rest of the world is familiar with,” Reithofer said on Tuesday in Munich.

BorgWarner to expand UK production to supply Jaguar Land Rover

U.S. supplier BorgWarner Inc. said it would build a new production line and engineering center in the United Kingdom to supply turbocharging systems to customer Jaguar Land Rover.

The turbochargers would be used in Jaguar Land Rover’s family of four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, expected to launch in 2015.
