Ford to close Belgian Genk plant


Ford has announced that it is to close its factory in Genk, Belgium, in late 2014. The plant currently builds Mondeo, Galaxy and S-MAX models, production of which is expected to move to Valencia, Spain during 2014.

Toyota seeks its oldest British-built car


In December 1992 Toyota’s very first Carina E rolled off the production line in Burnaston, Derbyshire. It was the first British-built Toyota and, to celebrate its twentieth anniversary, the company is seeking the oldest surviving example still in daily use.
