New Fiat Panda 4×4


The 4×4 version of the third generation Fiat Panda has been announced.

Still the only 4×4 car in the city car segment, the Panda has long been a staple of people living in remote areas. In the Italian Alps, virtually every house in the highest villages has an old Panda 4×4 parked outside.

Cheltenham Grand Prix for 2015?


To be accurate, it is not going to be a Formula One race, but Cheltenham is planning to be the first British city in recent times to stage a street race in 2015.

It will require a change in the law to allow street racing, and the intention is for it to be the first low-carbon race. In the meantime, Cheltenham will be hosting the Sustainable MotoExpo 2012, on 8th and 9th September, which will feature a fleet of cutting-edge low carbon vehicles.

More classics for Salon Prive


Salon Prive in Syon Park next week will have its best line-up yet.

These include a 1912 Bugatti Type 16 number 471 – the oldest competition Bugatti and the personal racing car of Ettore Bugatti, a 1953 Pegaso Z-102 (Pegaso was a would-be 1950s Spanish Ferrari), a 1934 Aston Martin Ulster, a “Lamborghini Flying Star” (the Turin Motor Show car), a 1969 Lamborghini Miura S, a 1965 ISO Grifo A3C, a 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale and a 1963 Shelby Cobra 289.

Taiwanese car, Luxgen, launches at Moscow Motor Show


Taiwan, the island that left China after China went communist, is launching its first car,  Luxgen,  on the world market at the Moscow Motor Show.

Citroen DS3 Cabrio Launched


We got quite excited when we saw the headline of the Citroen announcement.

However, it turns out Citroen has “done a Fiat 500” and added a fabric roof to the DS3 which rolls back all the way to the boot. The doors and windows stay the same as the hatchback as do the outer edges of the roof, so you do not get the full cabrio experience of, say, the Mini.
