McLaren builds the ultimate bespoke car: the X-1


Forget a bodykit or bigger wheels: McLaren< has built a completely new body for one super-rich client.

The X-1 is a rebodied MP4-12C, but only the windscreen and windows are carried over from the donor car. The client wanted something that had echoes of classic cars such as Citroen’s beautiful 1971 SM as well as non-automotive influences such as a grand piano.

Oops! Porsche introduces Boxter for London


When this correspondent typed “Boxter”, the helpful spell checker underlined it as a possible error. Apparently Porsche and its advertising agency can’t afford such advanced software – but they can afford to spend a fortune on a huge billboard campaign for the misspelled Boxster.

The hot Jaguar XFR-S has been spotted again – this time testing at the extreme Nürburgring race track. Last time we saw the XFR-S, was back in July when the undisguised prototype was spotted here in UK.

The weekend in Pebble Beach ended with a big sale. The 1960 California 250 LWB Spider Competizione was bought by an anonymous collector for over $11 million.

Bentley Mulsanne Vision Concept – World’s Most Elegant Convertible


Three years after the debut of the Mulsanne Saloon at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Bentley has revealed first images of a new addition to the marque’s flagship family.

The Mulsanne Convertible aka Vision Concept design sketches show a two-door version of the Mulsanne with a new steeply raked windscreen, that is inspired by the Park Ward S1 Drophead Coupe of the fifties.
